IMPORTANT:
The DragonPaths visualization tool uses aspects of casading style sheets which are only supported by more recent browsers. If you want to use DragonPaths (and have it work), you must be using Internet Explorer 5 or greater or Netscape 6.

The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes database provides an excellent resource for the understanding of cellular pathways. The Dragon Database can be used to annotate differential gene expression data with KEGG numbers and Locuslink numbers. Each KEGG number defines a cellular pathway in which many genes may participate. Based on differential gene expression data provided by the user, the DragonPaths visualization tool allows the user to view the location and relative expression levels of all the genes that are present in any KEGG pathway.
Instructions

Before you start...
You should check that the file that you plan to use has at least three columns of information. (You will specify which columns contain each type of information below.)
1) Ratio expression values (i.e. 2.3 or -1.6 etc.)
2) Locuslink numbers corresponding to each gene in your list (you can get Locuslink numbers from the Annotate tool).
3) KEGG pathway numbers (i.e. hsa00030) categorizing genes into cellular pathways.

Example Data Set
EXAMPLE DATA SET: Left click on the link to the left in order to copy and paste, or right click on it, save it to your computer and then re-upload it with the upload feature below.

Instructions
1) Choose how you want to enter your data.
2a or 2b) Upload or paste your delimited text file in the proper format.
3) Choose the KEGG pathway number you would like to view.
4) Specify the columns in which your three types of information are located.
5) Specify which sorts of delimiters you are using and then press "Analyze Data"

1) Choose how you are going to enter your data.
I am going to upload my data using the file entry field below (Go to 2a).
I am going to
paste my data into the textbox below (Go to 2b).
2a) Upload data.
You can submit a file for temporary upload to DragonPaths.

Please give your file a name:
2b) Paste your data into the field below.
Or you can paste your data here.
3) Choose the types of information you would like DRAGON to provide.
Choose the KEGG pathway you would like to view:
NOTE: For the time being you can only view human cellular pathways here (i.e. hsa00030).

Provide the numeric portion of your KEGG pathway number:
NOTE: The numeric portion of your KEGG pathway number is simply the KEGG number present in your data set. Usually it will be the number without the "hsa" or other zeros in front of it. (i.e. hsa00252 becomes 252)

4) Specify the columns in which your three types of information are located.
Indicate which columns contain your:
Expression values
, Locuslink numbers , and KEGG numbers
5) Specify which sorts of delimiters you are using.
Text to use as field delimiter (Assumed "," if left blank. Don't use tab-delimited text files.):
Text to use as line delimiter (assumed "newline" if left blank):
